Support services
Clients of The Cancer Council's accommodation facilities have access to a counsellor and the 'Friendly Visitor' program.
Transport service
Two mini buses are used to transport clients for treatment at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the Adelaide Radiotherapy Centres on South Terrace and at Flinders Private Hospital.
The services to the city commence at 7.30am and continue on an hourly basis until the last return journey at 4.30pm.
The service to Flinders Private Hospital consists of one return trip every morning and afternoon, Monday to Friday. Clients are booked into this service when they make their appointments.
The drivers of these vehicles are trained volunteers. The drivers ensure that passengers arrive for their appointments on time and when the treatment is completed for the day, if required, they are returned to their accommodation.
For those clients who stay for weekends because of the distance from home, the volunteer drivers provide day trips. Clients can also be transported to the local shopping centre if required.
