Freemasons Cancer Research Scholarship

No vacancies at present

The Masonic Foundation Inc. in partnership with The Cancer Council South Australia has established a Research Scholarship in the field of Prostate Cancer control.

Applications are sought from Masters or Doctoral level students who have, or are interested in developing, a research proposal which would explore and make recommendations on the rational decision making needs of men contemplating being tested for Prostate Cancer.

The Scholarship will be at Masters or Doctoral level ($18,009 salary and $2,500 maintenance) depending on a University's assessment of the study proposal and the candidate's academic record. It would be funded annually to a maximum of three year, depending on progress.

Progress will be overseen by the normal University internal and external supervisory processes and by a small committee representing the Masonic Foundation Inc. and The Cancer Council South Australia.

Potential applicants should discuss the topic with Professor David Roder, Group Executive Research and Development, at The Cancer Council South Australia (Ph: 8291 4297 or email npolglase@cancersa.org.au) and with their chosen University Department, prior to making formal application.

The Cancer Council South Australia will not be responsible for costs of University imposed tuition fees.

Selection Criteria:
  • have permanent Australian residential status;
  • possess an appropriate undergraduate degree;
  • have their research project accepted by a university in South Australia;
