Fundraising ideas

Fundraising can be hard work, but it can also be a lot of fun. When you start collecting, you will be amazed at the response you receive when you say it is for The Cancer Council South Australia. When you submit your Relay for Life forms, you will be issued with an official collectors authorisation, so people know that your collection is legitimate. Here are some fundraising ideas which may help get you started.
 
  • Dinner Nights with a theme, this can be done through a restaurant or at a private home
  • Trash & Treasure stalls at markets
  • Raffle an item (someone arty may be able to make something)
  • Fundraising at schools - a lot of schools "adopt" a cause per a year, try to get them to adopt Relay for Life
  • The swear box - every time you swear add a coin or two
  • Morning tea in the workplace
  • Sale of old CD's, records via market stalls
  • Casual Days or theme a day at work
  • Organise a car wash
  • Plan a movie preview screening at your local cinema
  • Ask each person you know for $10
