Physical activity tips

How active should I be?

think of movement as an opportunity, not an inconvenience
be active every day in as many ways as you can
for general good health, Australia's National Physical Activity Guidelines recommends
~ adults - at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity every day - it can be split over the day
~ children and young people - at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous-intensity activity every day
participate in some regular vigorous activity as many times a week as you can for added health and fitness
to reduce cancer risk, Cancer Council recommends one hour of moderate-intensity activity or 30 minutes of vigourous activity daily.
moderate-intensity activity
= any activity where you can talk but not sing,
such as brisk walking

vigorous activity
= any activity that makes you huff and puff,
such as jogging/running or fast cycling

Tips
