The following information provides a starting point to look for services in South Australia.

In most cases it will be best to contact the services listed by telephone. 1800 numbers are usually free when made from fixed phones (not mobile phones).

Commonwealth Carelink Centres provide reliable information and guidance about community care services available in your local community. 
The service is free and confidential. It’s best to ring the Freecall number to find the service you need.

Home And Community Care (HACC) 
Call the Commonwealth Carelink Centre 1800 052 222 to find out about HACC services.
The HACC Program  is a key provider of community care services. These programs are often managed through your local council.  
Some people may need to be referred to an Aged Care Assessment Team  – talk to your doctor.
 
provides information about living aide and equipment and a continence resource centre.  
Local Councils often provide a range of services that may be useful, such as help with shopping, transport, cleaning. (See also HACC services)

Some private meal services also provide meals.

Services include physical assistance, rehabilitation and personal care, as well as providing respite and support for carers. Also ncludes services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and those from diverse cultural backgrounds.
