Stage 1 Health - Healthy weight
Overweight and obesity is a major health issue confronting Australians, with significant health, social and economic consequences. The unit includes a study of the determinants of health and the role of the media, the current health status of Australians, and the roles and responsibilities of governments, health agencies and communities. Students are encouraged to investigate some of the issues and health promoting strategies.

Stage 2 - The sun and community/personal health
In this program students examine some of the attitudes and values that affect the health of individuals and the community in relation to skin protection and engage in health promotion aimed at changing behaviour. Students will develop strategies to inform individuals and the community about sun safety. This program provides an opportunity to examine this health issue in relation to young people.
