The Cancer Council Helpline 13 11 20

8.30am - 8.00pm Monday to Friday

Health professionals are able to access up-to-date information about cancer and refer patients to cancer support services
.
 
Call The Cancer Council Helpline 13 11 20 for the cost of a local call.
 
Calls are triaged to Nurse/Health Counsellors with extensive experience in cancer-related issues. They provide confidential information and support people affected by cancer. This includes cancer patients, their families and friends, and the general public.
 
Information can be given on
 
    cancer prevention and early detection 
    cancer types 
    diagnostic tests and cancer treatments 
    dealing with treatment side effects 
    services for people with cancer 
    emotional aspects of cancer 
    coping with grief 
    palliative care services.
 
Our trained Nurse/Health Counsellors can provide information to clarify medical terms, procedures and treatments. We do not provide medical advice, or recommend a course of action.
 
The Cancer Council Helpline can also be accessed using an interpreter.
