Calling for Committee Members for Relay For Life
Relay For Life is a team event to raise funds for cancer research, education, prevention and support services. It's 19 hours of fun with the challenge of competing in a relay style walk/run, all aimed at celebrating survivors, remembering those we've lost and fighting back against cancer in South Australia.
Cancer Council SA is seeking committee members to join Relay For Life in various locations.
"The Inaugural Southern Relay For Life Committee" - to help us coordinate the event scheduled for 21/22 November 2009.

Flinders Lodge recreational activities
Flinders Lodge would like to hold activities for guests who are in Adelaide receiving treatment.
Volunteers are required for the following activities:
- Bingo nightsCard/game nights
- Yoga/Tai Chi – must be qualified instructor
- Walking – Heritage Trail through Norwood – interest in history of area
- Botanic Gardens tour – knowledge of plants preferredRunning Devonshire tea sessions - afternoon.
All of these activities are flexible depending on the volunteer’s availability.
On call for events
Volunteers are required to assist with National fundraising events.
The assistance required depends on the event, and can include volunteering at a site, coordinating a site, assisting with setup, selling merchandise, driving.
Times vary with some out of hours work available.
Community Fundraising Representative - Time required: One day per week
Compassionate person needed to assist with collecting donations from memoriam services.
- To represent Cancer Council SA at selected funerals.
- The volunteer will not be required to attend the service.
- Must possess high level interpersonal communication skills and have a current South Australian driving licence.
Relay For Life
Volunteers are required to assist with logistical tasks at Relay For Life, Adelaide Hills and Southern area.
Adelaide Hills - 14th and 15th November
Southern - 21st and 22nd November
Volunteers are needed before, during and after the event for 4 hour blocks from 6.00am on Saturday through to 2.00pm on Sunday. Volunteers are required to work in the registration tent, sales, hospitality, setup camp sites, direct teams to their sites, cook breakfast, set up children's activities, and many more. They range from light, medium or heavy duties.
