What is skin cancer

Skin is the largest organ in the body and is made up of different layers of cells. Skin protects your internal organs from injury and disease and helps to regulate temperature and maintain hydration.

Skin cancer develops in skin cells. Skin cancers are grouped into two types, either non-melanoma or melanoma

Non-melanoma skin cancers are the most common type of skin cancer. While melanoma is less common, it is also the most dangerous as it has the ability to spread to other parts of the body.
