Current research
The Cancer Council South Australia uses a percentage of its income to support a wide range of research activities in South Australia. The Cancer Council South Australia grants for cancer research in South Australia are independently peer reviewed and competitive. Funds are available for cancer related laboratory, clinical, epidemiological and behavioural research. The Cancer Council funds a number of three year cancer research fellowships and associateships, a scientific travel grants-in-aid program, a visiting professor scheme and vacation scholarships for science students. The quantum of research funding provided by The Cancer Council is over $2M each year.
