Lifestyle changes

A cancer diagnosis can make you think about how you live – even after your treatment finishes. You might want to regain the energy and strength you had before your cancer treatment. Or you may decide to make some changes that will help you live a healthy and fulfilling life from now on.

Research is suggesting that a healthy lifestyle may reduce the risk of your cancer returning. Good nutrition, physical activity and relaxation techniques will all help you take control and get the most out of your life. It might help if you’re having problems with the after effects of your cancer treatments, such as fatigue too.

Looking after yourself
You might be asking Where do I start? What should I do first? It can be overwhelming when you want to make changes to the way you live. You might be worried about what exercise you should or shouldn’t do.

Talk to your doctor and health care team about making a healthy lifestlye plan.  This would include practical tips. It might also include relaxation tips. Your particular needs and preferences should be taken into account.
