Practical assistance

People with cancer know that it affects more than just their physical health. They may also have needs associated with the distress it causes (for both them and their family and friends), as well as raising practical issues.

One of these may be to do with finances. Often, people find themselves with a reduced income at a time when they are having increased demands for things such as medication costs, travel, heating and cooling and so on. It is often difficult to talk about your financial situation, but it is well recognised that having a significant illness places an added burden at a time when it is least needed.

See the social worker at your treatment centre to talk about finding the help you need.

This list of practical and financial assistance may also help.
