  • When cancer impacts your life, Cancer Council 13 11 20 can help

    11 July 2017

My husband Colin, our two children and I were a typical young family. That was, until Colin found a lump and was diagnosed with an aggressive form of testicular cancer.

I could never have anticipated what would follow and I will never forget how Cancer Council supported us through it all. They held my hand when I had nothing to hold on to.

    This is my story …

Every day, families just like mine call Cancer Council 13 11 20 to support them through their darkest days. I can’t imagine how I would have coped without it.

If you or a loved one have been affected by cancer, you need to know you’re not alone.

You can speak a Cancer Council nurse for information and support — just call 13 11 20 or chat with them online.

    Best wishes,

    Leanne Stovell

PS To every person who has given even a dollar, thank you! By donating to Cancer Council SA, you’ve made sure that families like mine won’t go through cancer alone.

Wow Leanne, what an emotional roller coaster you were on. Your ending is not what I thought I would hear. I am soooo glad that Andrew recovered. It sure is a huge battle, that we never know who will have to fight.
