    Ambassadors

Every day, 26 South Australians are diagnosed with cancer.

Every day, each of us can do something to contribute to a world without cancer.

With the help of volunteers and Ambassadors, we will deliver a cancer free future. You can help too by becoming a Cancer Council SA Ambassador.

Cancer Council SA Ambassadors are regular South Australians from all walks of life who want to make a difference in their community. Ambassadors partner with Cancer Council SA, taking action to defeat cancer in their homes, workplaces, schools, universities, sporting clubs—in fact, everywhere.

“Having lost my dear mother last year after a terrible 13 month battle, I’ve seen how cancer can shake people to their core. I want to let my personal experience make a positive difference to other people’s lives and not waste the opportunity I’ve been given” —Kylie, 27 of Nailsworth.

    What do Ambassadors do?

Cancer Council SA Ambassadors take action on cancer prevention, cancer support and fundraising activities, including:

    • representing Cancer Council SA at community events
    • acting for Cancer Council SA in local communities and workplaces
    • communicating cancer prevention messages
    • generating awareness of Cancer Council SA's support services within in the local community
    • leading volunteer teams and projects
    • promoting and championing fundraising events

“Every opportunity has enabled me to offer support, education and understanding to cancer patients and families. Every time I attend an activity, I am rewarded with thanks, hugs, warmth and congratulations for sharing my story. Sharing my story can be difficult, however it also helps me to realise why I fought cancer, how lucky I am, and how amazing life really is.“  Kath, 54 of Summertown.
