We recognise that cancer can be overwhelming but finding the right information and support can make a world of difference.

The Hospital Restocking Volunteer assists in connecting the community with information by distributing Cancer Council resources to established displays in various hospitals and cancer treatment centres across metropolitan Adelaide.

As a Hospital Restocking Volunteer you will:

  • Work with a restocking partner to refill Cancer Council publications and resources throughout designated hospitals and cancer treatment centres located around metropolitan Adelaide.
  • Follow procedures and use safe manual handling techniques to load and unload stock.
  • Complete paperwork and record keeping of stock deliveries in a timely manner for accurate reporting.
  • Operate Cancer Council SA vehicles in line with the relevant policy and procedures.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A confidence and ability to work independently with indirect supervision in a medical environment.
  • A valid Australian driver’s licence.

Location and time required:

  • This position involves travel, leaving from Cancer Council SA (168 Greenhill Road, Parkside) and delivering resources across metropolitan Adelaide.
  • The role is required Tuesday mornings starting at 9 am; the average shift length is 2-4 hours.
  • We are looking for someone to be available on a casual basis, filling in for sick leave and holidays.

Special conditions:

  • The successful volunteer will be a non-smoker.
  • As a part of our recruitment process you may be required to undertake a medical assessment, validate any relevant vaccinations and criminal history checks and/or complete any practical assessment deemed appropriate to the role.
