Cancer Council SA staff, Board members, volunteers and Ambassadors all share one thing in common―a commitment to a cancer free future.
Every minute of every day, in our Eastwood office, in our Lodges, at treatment centres and events throughout the state, our people work hard to get us closer to that vision.
Whether we are supporting people through a cancer diagnosis, educating the community about ways to reduce their cancer risk, raising much needed dollars to continue our vital work or simply contributing to the running of the office, our personal experience drives us each and every day.
There has also been a lot happening here at Cancer Council including the streamlining of our operating model aligned to our strategic plan and operational workplans, we’ve had some great staff acquisitions to key roles within the business and there has been some fantastic work from our Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander team delivering their Quitskills training across the country.
We conducted a staff survey in September 2017 to identify business improvements, staff engagement and opportunities and have been progressing the feedback over the past 12 months― we plan to conduct a follow-up survey in September 2018.
Our wonderful volunteers played an important part in the work we did― their support, attendance at events, driving guests to treatment, hosting events, even packing materials, all played an invaluable part in assisting us in our dayto- day operations. The time they invest in these activities allow the staff to focus on their work to achieve our vision of a cancer free future.
The work of our volunteers goes far beyond helping the staff; they are valuable contributors to helping us achieve our vision. Their impact is multidimensional from our guests and clients, to the South Australian community, to staff, and to themselves.
To all of our people, thank you. We couldn’t do it without you.
