Cancer Council SA is delighted to announce Thomas Foods International (TFI) as their Daffodil Day major state sponsor. Falling on Thursday 22 August, this most iconic and much-loved fundraising campaign will be bolstered by one of Australia’s largest family-owned and proudly South Australian businesses, TFI.

In 2023, Daffodil Day raised around $2.5 million nationally for lifesaving cancer research. We all have the ability to create change in the lives of people impacted by cancer by contributing to the funding of cancer research. For the Cancer Council, daffodils represent hope and by joining us for Daffodil Day this year, TFI is doing just that and helping us encourage people to give hope.

With 1 in 2 people being affected by cancer in their lifetime, we will all be impacted by this heartbreaking disease. That’s why we will be holding an awareness and fundraising activation in Rundle Mall with TFI. Our staff will work together to sell beautiful and fresh daffodils and daffodil pins. In addition to Rundle Mall, we will have activations all over the state to facilitate people giving hope this Daffodil Day.

Darren Thomas, Managing Director of TFI said: “We know the terrific impact Cancer Council SA has and are immensely proud to be their corporate partner for Daffodil Day this year. TFI considers it a privilege to give back to the community and we know that cancer is something that affects not only our staff, but all of our stakeholders indiscriminately. We encourage everyone to buy a bunch of daffodils or make a donation, all in the name of cancer research and supporting future breakthroughs.”

Kerry Rowlands, Chief Executive of Cancer Council SA said: “We welcome TFI as our Daffodil Day corporate partner. Supporting cancer research is a key focus for Cancer Council SA because we know that research breakthroughs contribute to more people surviving their cancer diagnosis. The daffodil is a sign of hope for the more than 30 South Australians who will be diagnosed with cancer today and we’re so happy to have the team at TFI to help us share that message of hope throughout South Australia.”
