Clinical Trials Data Manager – Royal Adelaide Hospital

    Professor Michael Brown

    Data Manager for Clinical Trials

    Our research

Lung cancer once inoperable is incurable. New treatment approaches including novel combinations of drugs and combinations of a drug with radiotherapy may improve outcomes. We performed phase 1 clinical trials for each kind of combination. In the first, the combination was too toxic to be used in future. In the second, the combination is promising and worthy of future exploration.

    What we aim to achieve

Further clinical development is required to answer this question.

What are the next steps and milestones for your research?

    Publication of our findings.

What motivates you to pursue cancer research?

I am motivated to carry out this work because of the potential to improve treatment outcomes for cancer patients.

    My message to supporters:

Clinical trials are an essential part of the cancer drug development process and provide new treatment options for patients. It is vital, therefore, that Cancer Council SA donors continue to support this necessary work.
