A novel model to investigate the role of high fat diet in breast cancer predisposition

Breast cancer (BC) risk is strongly associated with a diet high in saturated fats. This risk is greater in individuals who develop obesity from high-fat intake during adolescence. The goal of this project is to explore this relationship using a unique model of diet, metabolism and BC developed by our team. Using this novel model, we will define the high fat diet-induced early molecular changes that influence mammary cell biology and act as potential prognostic BC-susceptibility markers.
