Dramatically altered gene regulation is a common driver of cancer and this work will study how two gene regulatory proteins influence cancer cell development. Following manipulation of these two proteins in cultured cells and in tumors xenografted onto animals, we will perform a number of molecular analyses to determine how the proteins are either advancing, or inhibiting, tumor growth. The information may highlight new opportunities for anti-cancer drug design.

This requested infrastructure is critical to study the processes that drive abnormal proliferation and invasiveness of cancers and to achieve our aims of identifying new targets that can be used to improve personalised therapies against cancer.
