Cancer Council SA Quitskills Team Roxanne Sambo




Roxanne is a Kokatha woman from Ceduna on the Far West Coast region of South Australia. 

With close connections to the Wirangu, Mirning, and Barnggarla cultural groups, her Homeland is Dinah Line Community via Ceduna with strong connections to Koonibba Aboriginal Community, her Mother’s birthplace.  

Roxanne has been working in Aboriginal Health for more than 30 years, with extensive experience in delivering Quitskills Training in remote areas. As an ex-smoker, Roxanne understands the health risks and impacts on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities. 

Roxanne is passionate about her work with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populationeducating, training, and promoting awareness of the negative health effects of smoking and the benefits of quitting.
