Every year, Australians set and smash a March fitness goal, all with the aim of raising funds for life-saving cancer research. Now, with March just around the corner, it’s time to get ready to take on the March Charge Challenge.

This fun fitness challenge has an enormous impact on how cancer is researched and treated, all thanks to the funds raised by those who sign up to participate as an individual or team.

How it works

Once you’ve decided to take on the March Charge challenge and registered to charge solo or with your friends, family or colleagues, it’s time to set your goal to walk or run for the month of March. Then, it’s time to let everyone know what you’re doing and why in the lead up to the first day of March – that way everyone can support you and Australians impacted by cancer through making a donation to your challenge.

Once you’ve signed up, set your goal and shared your challenge – it’s time to dust off the running shoes and get active throughout March to make sure you reach your goal. Track your steps and kilometres as you go and let everyone know how you’re tracking.

Whenever I feel like giving up I just think of my mum… It’s made me realise how lucky I am to be here, to be able to use my legs and my lungs. I’m doing it because she can’t.” – Annie, March Charge participant

When you join Cancer Council’s The March Charge, your steps are literally saving lives. Every dollar goes to supporting Cancer Council to create a cancer free future.

Last year, the South Australian community well and truly stepped up to the March Charge challenge, raising an incredible $46,345!

This year, we hope to see more South Australians take part to support our vision of a cancer free future and help reduce their risk of cancer by participating in regular physical activity.
