Formerly known as the Cancer Council Beat Cancer Project, these research projects covered a broad spectrum of cancer-related topics, from basic science and biomedical research, through to clinical, population health and health services research.
Thanks to this collaboration, with the generous donations from the community and financial support of the State Government through the Department of Health and the Australian Government through the Medical Research Future Fund, it was able to contribute to a significant amount towards ground-breaking research initiatives. This included project grants, research fellowships, scholarships, as well as infrastructure and travel grants in relation to some of the most common cancers affecting South Australians, including bowel, breast and skin cancers.
