In 2011, Cancer Council SA partnered with SA Health, SAHMRI and South Australian Universities to lead Cancer Council’s Beat Cancer Project.
Thanks to this collaboration, with the generous donations from the community and financial support of the State Government through the Department of Health and the Australian Government through the Medical Research Future Fund, it was able to contribute to a significant amount towards ground-breaking research initiatives. This included project grants, research fellowships, scholarships, as well as infrastructure and travel grants in relation to some of the most common cancers affecting South Australians, including bowel, breast and skin cancers.
