Administration Support Volunteer

Role overview

Do you have a knack for administration and organisation? Are you savvy with spreadsheets and databases?

Cancer Council SA recognises that cancer can be overwhelming but finding the right information and support can often make a world of difference. Our Information and Support Unit delivers a range of programs and services to advance the provision of supportive care for people affected by cancer. These programs aim to minimise the impact of cancer and/or improve quality of life.

Our Information and Support Unit are seeking an experienced volunteer administration person to provide administrative and practical support in a variety of areas including:

  • data entry into spreadsheets and databases
  • packing support and information packs
  • supporting staff at training sessions and workshops.

Location and time required

  • This position is located at Cancer Council SA’s office at Parkside
  • The role will require 4-5 hours per fortnight, with additional shifts during peak periods

Special conditions

  • The successful volunteer will be a non-smoker
  • Provide a national criminal history check that is less than 6 months old (Cancer Council SA will organise and pay for a national criminal history check for the successful volunteer)

Cancer Connect Peer Support Volunteer

Role overview
Cancer Council SA recognises that some people with cancer find talking to someone who has been through a similar experience both reassuring and encouraging.

You will provide a one-to-one telephone only support service to people affected by cancer, experiencing a cancer diagnosis, undertaking treatment or encountering survivorship issues. You may provide emotional support, practical information and reassurance to people affected by cancer, survivors, carers or a family member.

Special conditions

  • The successful volunteer would have a minimum of 12 months post completion of their cancer treatment with physical and emotional recovery from their experience
  • The successful volunteer will be a non-smoker
  • Provide a national criminal history check that is less than 6 months old (Cancer Council SA will organise and pay for a national criminal history check for the successful volunteer)
