A new endocrine paradigm to target metastasis of estrogen receptor positive breast cancer

The ability for breast cancer cells to leave the breast and grow in vital organs causes death from this disease. The exiting process is called metastasis. We will test a new hormone-based treatment that may stop breast cancer cells from leaving the breast or from growing in vital organs.

This new treatment is approved for use in women, so our work could provide critical evidence to test its use in early, non-metastatic stages of breast cancer.
