Participation in regular breast, bowel and cervical cancer screening gives you the best chance of detecting cancer early and ultimately, saving your life.
Cancer screening rates in regional areas often fall below the South Australian average, specifically in the Outback North and East, Limestone Coast, Mid North and Murray Mallee regions.
Driven by Cancer Council SA and supported by Country SA PHN, the Cancer Screening Regional Roadshow will visit regional locations across the state between March and June 2021 to address this concerning trend, educating locals about the importance of screening and encouraging all regional South Australians to make sure they and their loved ones are up to date with their breast, bowel and cervical screening tests.
The information sessions will talk about the three national cancer screening programs, the importance of cancer screening as an early detection tool, who should take part in regular screening and how to do your test.
Those who attend will receive information and resources to support their participation in the national screening programs.
The Screening Roadshow has been made possible by funding from Country SA PHN.
