It is with great pride that the Adelaide Strikers announce Cancer Council SA as the Adelaide Strikers’ official Charity Partner for a further two seasons.

It is a partnership that is very close to everyone at the Strikers’ hearts, even more so following the passing of former South Australian Cricket Association Chief Executive Keith Bradshaw to multiple myeloma just over a year ago.

Keith’s daughters, Juliet and Eliza Bradshaw, said their Dad would be thrilled to see the Strikers and SACA strengthening their partnership with Cancer Council SA.

“We are extremely grateful and humbled by the ongoing support from the SACA community,” Juliet and Eliza said.

“Dad would be so proud to see SACA partnering with Cancer Council SA.

“We are so pleased to see Dad’s legacy living on through this partnership. We look forward to finding a cure for this relentless disease that affects so many families like ours.”

Cancer Council SA Chief Executive Kerry Rowlands said that partnering with the Adelaide Strikers is a fantastic way to support South Australians impacted by cancer and honour Keith’s memory.

“The partnership with the Adelaide Strikers is a wonderful alignment with our values and we’re delighted to be able to use the partnership to raise awareness about the work of Cancer Council SA and help reduce the rate and impact of cancer for all South Australians.”

“The partnership is also a fantastic vehicle for us to promote our sun protection messaging throughout summer when the UV is at its highest, with the Strikers players and the wider organisation embodying our SunSmart values.”

“We’re delighted to partner with the Strikers for another two years and look forward to bringing the partnership to life.”

To celebrate the partnership, Cancer Council SA and the Adelaide Strikers launched “Hit Cancer For Six” today, a new community fundraising initiative that allows cricket clubs to fundraise and support Cancer Council SA’s vital work, including their life-saving sun protection programs.

Anyone who registers to Hit Cancer for Six by Friday 21 December will go in the draw to win a one-of-a-kind handmade cricket bat by local bat designer Jack Konnis, valued at $750.

Cancer Council SA and the Adelaide Strikers will also be organising a match day activation at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday, December 20 during their BBL|12 game against the Sydney Thunder to help raise funds to support Cancer Council SA’s vital work.
