Community services organisations have a strong relationship with the people they support and are often in a great position to support participants to quit smoking and vaping.
The Tackling Tobacco Program equips community service organisations with the resources and skills they need to do this, including:
- $5,000 grants to provide participants with resources or nicotine replacement therapy medications
 - training for staff or volunteers to build their confidence in providing quit support
 - support in policy review and creating smoke-free environments
 - enabling systems to support participants with quitting smoking or vaping.

Since Offenders Aid and Rehabilitation Services (OARS) Community Transitions joined our Tackling Tobacco Program in 2022, their staff have become more confident in offering quit smoking support to their participants. They have also been able to supply participants with free quit-smoking products which their participants have really appreciated.
"There’s a shift in thinking in regard to addressing a client’s tobacco use – it is no longer put into the ‘too hard box’."
