We’re working to reduce the rate and impact of cancer for all South Australians through prevention, research and support programs that make a real difference in the lives of South Australians.
But there is still more work to be done.
Almost one in two of us will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. But all of us can help improve those odds. Whilst our cancer outcomes continue to be amongst the best in the world, by working together we can all play a part in reducing the impact of cancer for all South Australians.
As South Australia’s leading cancer charity, working across every aspect of every cancer, we deliver life-saving cancer prevention programs, invest in world-class research working toward the next cancer breakthrough, and provide vital support services to ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
We are here for all South Australians across every stage of their cancer experience – from diagnosis through to treatment and beyond.
Our vital work is only possible thanks to generous support from the South Australian community. Together, it’s all of us against cancer.
Our strategic plan
Our values
Cancer Council SA’s values are more than just words on a page. They are the foundation of our organisation and represent the three core behaviours that we aim to embody in every interaction: care, integrity and excellence.
Reconciliation Action Plan
Cancer Council SA is committed to advocating for policy and law changes, at both the state and federal level, where evidence indicates these changes can prevent cancer at both a population and individual level. Our organisation is dedicated to expanding access to prevention programs and services over the next five years through placing a greater emphasis on inclusivity and accessibility for all South Australians, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, culturally and linguistically diverse and remote communities.

Skin Cancer Prevention Partnership – A Framework for Action 2023-28
Cancer Council SA have partnered with Preventive Health SA to implement the South Australian Skin Cancer Prevention Partnership – A Framework for Action 2023-2028 which is the state’s first framework to take action against skin cancer and save lives.
The five-year, multi-strategy Framework is the first formal, coordinated approach to skin cancer prevention and early detection in South Australia and contains evidence-based strategies to reduce the rate and impact of skin cancer.
