Healthcare professionals play a key role in supporting people affected by cancer beyond diagnosis and treatment. 

Our supportive care services are designed to work alongside primary care to help patients manage the broader impacts of cancer, including emotional wellbeing, practical challenges, recovery, and survivorship.

Supporting Your Patients Through Cancer and Beyond

Discover how healthcare professionals in South Australia can support people affected by cancer by referring patients to Cancer Council SA for trusted information and supportive care.

Cancer Support Referral

Cancer Council SA’s qualified health professionals provide information and support to people impacted by cancer. You can connect your patients with our services through a referral to Cancer Council 13 11 20. When referred, your patients will be contacted by our qualified health professionals who will assess the patients’ need, provide evidence-based information and connect them with the most appropriate support services. Alternatively, they can reach out directly by calling 13 11 20.

We're here to help you support your patients, their families and friends, by providing reliable information, practical support services and access to evidence-based resources and education to improve wellbeing during and after cancer treatment.

Patient resources

Cancer Council provides trustworthy, evidence-based resources and information for patients, families and the general community about cancer prevention, treatment and support. You can view or download all our resources, or you can speak to one of our qualified health professionals on 13 11 20 or askanurse@cancersa.org.au about which resources best suit your patients’ needs.
