I have four kids, 11 grandkids and six great grandkids, and knowing that cancer runs in our family I want to make sure that I leave a legacy [in my Will] for my family and future generations who are impacted by this terrible disease.

Margaret watched breast cancer impact three generations — her great grandmother, her grandmother and her mum. Then, she stood by her best friend’s side when she too was diagnosed. That’s when Margaret decided that she wanted to do what she could to help to find a cure and decided to leave a gift in her Will to Cancer Council SA.
I wasn’t coping, it’s very hard when you’re confronted with seeing the disease affect someone you love. So I called the nurses at Cancer Council SA. I always knew they were there on the other end of the line and it blew my mind to see how supportive they were, and it cemented my appreciation of the role Cancer Council SA plays for so many people. Hopefully they’ll have to wait a little while, but my little contribution (whenever it happens) will be a gift to help Cancer Council SA continue their important work.
