Support for people experiencing financial challenges because of cancer
Cancer Council SA’s Financial Services Program provides support to individuals with a diagnosis of cancer which is impacting on their financial situation and capacity to pay household bills.
A small grant towards an unpaid household bill may be available to assist people who are experiencing financial hardship due to a cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Eligibility is assessed on an individual basis through a social worker or health professional at your treatment centre.
How to access Cancer Council SA’s Financial Services Program
For more information about our Financial Services Program, please talk to your social worker through your treatment centre or call Cancer Council 13 11 20.
If you are not eligible for Cancer Council SA’s Financial Services Program, your social worker or our qualified health professionals on 13 11 20 can also help connect you with our community and government resources that may be able to help.
Cancer Council SA’s Legal and Financial Referral Services
Cancer Council SA connects South Australians impacted by cancer with volunteer professionals who can provide financial and legal advice and support to people going through cancer treatment and their carers – including lawyers and financial planners.
Referrals to volunteer legal and financial professionals may help cancer patients, carers and bereaved carers experiencing cancer-related financial issues and are unable to afford professional advice.
Cancer Council SA staff do not provide legal or financial advice.
