Are you bold enough to glam up and support a cancer free future?
Join the Marilyn Jetty Swim for the most empowering way to make a difference!
As a fundraising partner of the annual Brighton Jetty Classic, the Marilyn Jetty Swim is an exciting and unique way to be part of South Australia’s largest open water swim.
What is the Marilyn Jetty Swim?
The Marilyns are a group of bold, fabulous women who take part in the Brighton Jetty Classic, swimming or paddling 400 metres around the Brighton Jetty every February―all dressed head to toe as our favourite ‘50s icon, Marilyn Monroe. Particularly fabulous, is that they do it all to raise much needed funds for Cancer Council SA.
What makes a Marilyn?
At the heart of every Marilyn is one common drive: to make a difference in the lives of people living with cancer. United by shared cancer experience, the Marilyns are a sisterhood of support, who are determined to do something positive: raise the funds that will change the future of cancer.
You’ll enjoy being professionally made up, before splashing into an invigorating paddle, 400m around Brighton Jetty. And if swimming is not your style, there’s plenty to be done onshore, with Marilyns parading the shoreline, handing out sunscreen and collecting donations.
While strutting around in your swimwear may seem daunting, founder of the Marilyn Jetty Swim, Sarah Tinney, emphasises, “this is not a beauty competition, this is about having fun while supporting an important cause”.
Our inspiring muse, Marilyn Monroe, once said, “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world!”… We say, just give her the right bathing suit, a blonde wig and a touch of red lippy!
We hope you’ll join us for this adventure of a lifetime!
