In the community – what’s on

You don’t have to host an event to show your support for South Australians impacted by cancer, you can choose to get involved with an event happening near you. As well as spreading awareness and raising funds, it’s a great way to meet like-minded people and strengthen your community roots.

Judith's Legacy

Judith’s Walk

After losing his wife and the love of his life, Judith, to ovarian cancer in 2017, Dean Rowe has dedicated his days to raising funds for Cancer Council SA in her honour. Each year in February, Dean celebrates his late wife’s memory with his local community, friends and family through ‘Judith’s Walk’—a 6km walk along the Shiraz Trail in Willunga. In the lead up to the walk, Dean organises many other fundraising events as part of ‘Judith’s Legacy’ with the hopes of raising funds to find better ways to detect and live beyond ovarian cancer.

From hosting Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea’s, to coordinating Daffodil Day sites in their local community, our Branches are the face of Cancer Council SA in regional South Australia.

With lifetime donations topping over $4.25 million, along with raising vital funds for Cancer Council SA, these six branches (Gawler, Jamestown and Districts, Mount Gambier, Naracoorte, Northern Yorke Peninsula and Riverland) are pinnacle in making their community aware of the varying support services that Cancer Council SA provides to those impacted by cancer and the general public.
