We offer a free, limited volunteer run bus service that travels Monday to Friday between the Lodges and major treatment centres. The service provides access to Royal Adelaide Hospital, St Andrews, Tennyson and Genesis Care Flinders.

Priority is given to guests requiring treatment, although carers are welcome to use the service space permitting.

Guests can enquire at reception if they require further information about the service and bus timetables.

Patient Assisted Transport Scheme (PATS) is a subsidy program funded by The Government of South Australia to assist people travelling more than 100 km each way to receive approved medical services.

A patient may be eligible for PATS if:

  • you live more than 100 kilometres away from the nearest treating specialist
  • your treatment is claimable under Medicare
  • you have claimed any available benefits from your private health fund

If your patient is eligible for PATS and are staying 4 nights or more in our Lodges, Cancer Council SA may be able to invoice PATS directly for the cost of the accommodation.

Other travel subsidy schemes are available if your patient is traveling to Adelaide from other states within Australia. For more information please discuss with reception.
