Roasted cherry tomatoes and potatoes in a white baking dish; plate of toast with tomatoes and feta.

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Add the beans, tomatoes, tomato paste, syrup, paprika and garlic to a large, deep baking dish. Season with pepper and stir to combine.
  2. Bake, stirring halfway through, for 30 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
  3. Serve.

Serving suggestion

Serve with toast and crumbled feta cheese.

Variations

For a vegan version stir through 2 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes before baking.

Cooking tip

This recipe could also be cooked on the stovetop, just add a splash of water if the sauce gets too thick.

Storage tip

To refrigerate, store baked beans in a reusable container for up to three days. Can freeze for up to six months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight and then reheat in microwave until heated through to serve.
