Puppy yoga brings South Aussies together to support families impacted by cancer

Hundreds of South Australians will gather for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea tomorrow, including some very cute four-legged guests, as local business Yoga Paws hosts a special puppy yoga morning tea to raise funds for families impacted by cancer.

The event will combine guided yoga sessions with playful puppies and a special morning tea with 10 per cent of ticket sales from Yoga Paws’ morning puppy yoga classes this weekend donated to Cancer Council SA to help fund vital cancer prevention, research and support services.

The official day to host an Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is tomorrow, Thursday 21 May, but South Australians are encouraged to host their own event anytime throughout May or June, with almost 1,500 hosts already registered.

Cancer Council SA Chief Executive Kerry Rowlands said this year Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is hoping to raise more than $1.4 million to continue Cancer Council SA’s vital prevention, research and support services for South Australians impacted by cancer.

“Sadly, all of us will be affected by cancer at some point in our lives with 30 new cases of cancer diagnosed every day in South Australia. This is exactly what inspires many of our supporters to host their own Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea,” Kerry said.

“Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is a fantastic opportunity for South Australians to take a moment to have a cuppa with friends, family or workmates while making a huge difference.

“Through events like Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, we are able to ensure that every South Australian is supported, across every stage of their cancer experience, while also funding vital prevention programs and world-class research to save future lives.”
